The Shambhala traces its roots from the introspective teachings of Buddhism, that which encompasses teachings within a spiritual realm. It is a path that can be accounted to Chögyam Trungpa, and his son and spiritual heir, Sakyong Mipham, the founders of Shambhala. The main view of Shambhala is borne out of the idea that man is basically good and intelligent. Man must be able to actualize his potentials despite his many shortcomings. The way of Shambhala can be considered a path to awakening and when it is matched with yoga, Shambhala Yoga is thus, brought forth.
Shambhala yoga places meditation to a whole new level because it incorporates the very foundations of Shambhala teachings into a structured path of meditation. Man has always been bothered with so many concerns, simple or profound, that always overcome his resolve to become aware of his potentials. With Shambhala Yoga, individuals are given the chance to clarify the mind and have a fuller understanding of life by rousing our natural force and have a similar connection with nature. It is all about rousing our spiritual energy within the path of meditation.
Facing life’s difficulties and challenges is a requirement to succeed. But there’s nothing better than facing them by getting in touch with our spiritual psyche. Our emotional well-being may be at stake if we disregard this aspect of our life. Yoga is often regarded as an outlet and also a sort of ‘medication’ because of its therapeutic benefits. Indeed, there many benefits of yoga including alleviating man’s stress of everyday life. This has been proven countless times.
Now, Shambhala yoga incorporates Tibetan Buddhism teachings of wisdom and compassion and Shambhala teachings like joy, contentment and creativity. A combination of all these paves the way for contemporary yet effective spiritual learnings spent during meditation. This becomes a whole new journey that becomes meaningful and experiential—getting in touch with our own emotions, intelligence and creativity.
